It all started back in 2007 when I was working full-time at the law firm of Joseph I. Mezrahi, Esq. while juggling a part-time business. Unfortunately, my business venture collapsed, leaving me with a debt of $150K. Seemingly, I only had one option: default on my credit cards and declare bankruptcy. But my never-say-die attitude didn’t let me give up or become discouraged, and I brainstormed with my law firm colleagues to find a way out. I didn’t really know what to do, but I knew in my heart that I wasn’t ready to throw it all away.
So, I spent my next few years trying to figure out how to get myself out of this chaos and financial doom. After months of endless research, a few hundred cups of coffee, and some tears, I found a way out and got back on my feet. I promised myself that I’d use my experience and skills to help others who were in my shoes.
I started Gemach Chasdei Yosef to honor the memory of Maran Chacham Ovadia Yosef zt”l by leading individuals and businesses through financial and economic hardships to a life free of debt and financial pressure. Since then, we’ve been making waves and changing lives – one life at a time!
